Dear Fellow Owners,
We are pleased to announce, the SRIOC’s petition to the EU parliament was accepted for hearing by the EU Petitions Committee, and we were invited to participate in this meeting, which we wholeheartedly accepted.
An SRIOC representative and our solicitor, Theodor Cheykov, successfully presented our petition at a meeting of the EU petitions committee yesterday, 24th October, at the EU Parliament Brussels, and we are delighted to report our petition was supported by a number of MEPS, which included the German MEP and chair, Irish MEP Mick Wallace and our Champion Clare Daly. They spoke of their dismay and disgust that we, as EU Citizens, are without direct connection in the year 2023. They demanded that our petition be kept open and that an active investigation be held at the highest level in Bulgaria and by the EU Commission and the EU energy regulator.
The continued support and acknowledgement of the EU Commission and MEPs, will pressurise the Bulgaria energy regulator to comply with EU and Bulgarian law to accomplish our goal of direct connection to electricity and water. This is a significant step forward in our fight for the right to direct connection.
We were unable to advise you prior to the hearing of our EU petition, since we did not wish to inform other parties who may not be working in our best interests.
